Since 2002 the Service Centre for Intercultural Competence has advised and supported the Studentenwerke in their international work. Its aim is to contribute in general to the internationalisation of universities. This includes promoting the academic success of international students as well as the dialogue and contact between German and international students.

The Service Centre for Intercultural Competence provides information and advice for foreign students, organises further education events and keeps everyone informed through several publications.

The target group of the Service Centre for Intercultural Competence is not the students themselves but the Studentenwerke employees, and tutors who advise and look after international students.
