International students in Germany

How many international students are there in Germany? And where do they come from? Our social survey provides the answers. With our quiz we want to make the results available to the wider public - playfully and simply.

Unfortunately there's no prize, but you will be surprised by some of the answers.

Don't worry; most people who are not experts on the subject will have to guess the answers!

Which subjects are most often chosen by international students?

Language / cultural studies and Engineering are chosen most often: 22% each. Closely followed by Economics / law: 20% and Maths and natural sciences: 19%.

11% are enrolled in Social sciences, psychology, education and 6% in Medicine.

Students from devoloping countries tend to opt for egineerig, students from newly industrializing countries and developed countries choose language / cultural studies more often.
